I absolutely love my small home town of Farmersville. We are about 45 minutes north east of Dallas, and you can’t beat this historic town charm. Here are my favorite photography session locations in Farmersville and the surrounding north Texas area!
Parkhill Prairie
Parkhill Prairie is a park in north east Collin County. It’s a beautiful open space with some trails and a natural landscape. Think beautiful Texas skies, and miles of open fields all around. There’s a beautiful pond, and really nice colors in the fall. This is a wonderful location year-round.

Cottonwood Creek
When I was a kid, I grew up playing in this little creek near my neighborhood. I didn’t appreciate the beauty back then, but it makes a gorgeous location for photography. If you’re looking for a local rock-bottom creek with easy access, this is the perfect spot! The area I use is mostly shallow, so it’s perfect for the family. If you have smaller kids, make sure to bring a change of clothes! It’s hard to resist splashing in this beautifully clear creek.

Oak Point Nature Preserve
This open space area is a beautiful location for natural outdoor photos. There is a small pond, large trees, and beautiful wildflowers. The area that I like to use is a big of a hike, but worth it! Although this park is fairly busy, this little area feels like you’re in your own private field!

Sistergrove Park
Sistergrove is located on the north end of Lake Lavon, and is a beautiful open space park. There are large trees and natural grasses. It’s a great location in the spring and fall. This is one of my favorite photography locations in North Texas.

Merit
Although I call Farmersville home, we actually live on a farm in Merit, NE of Farmersville. It’s a very rural area, but there are a few beautiful locations for photos. These locations are great for families with small kids because the parking is close, and there is very little walking.

Beverly Harris House in McKinney
If you’re looking for an indoor location that feels like you’re in a beautifully styled home, check out the Beverly Harris House in downtown McKinney. It’s perfect for newborn sessions, or for sessions when the weather is too hot, cold, wet, or windy! The huge windows and bright furniture create the perfect setting for timeless portraits. This is my favorite studio photography location in North Texas.
